I Surrender All?

We have all heard the gospel song that says “I surrender all, all to Jesus I surrender.” Have you ever asked yourself why do I need to surrender all?

God inspired Isaiah to write:

Isaiah 55:9-11King James Version (KJV)
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Father God is telling us that HE knows more than we know and that HE always knows what is best for us and that HE is always faithful to us.
Proverbs 3:5-6King James Version (KJV)
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Since Father God already knows what is best for us and knows the best way to cause these things to come into our lives, it is easy for us to trust HIM and to surrender our will and ways to HIM even when we don’t have the answer. Heb 11:6 tells us that without Faith it is impossible to please HIM.

Hebrews 11:6King James Version (KJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The greatest confidence you can give someone is to trust and believe what they say, surrender means to give all of cares, desires and plans to Father God and to trust that HE loves us so much that HE only wants what is best for us and HE will cause all good things to come to pass in our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11King James Version (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
1 Peter 5:7King James Version (KJV)
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Romans 8:28King James Version (KJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

These scriptures promise us that God has only good plans for us, that we are to cast ALL (Not just a few or some.) of our cares onto HIM and believe in faith in HIS love for us that HE causes ALL things to work together for our good.

Once we understand how much God loves us and the thoughts and plans HE has for us it is easy to surrender all of our lives to HIM. We know that HE loves us even more than we can understand, that HE is all knowing, that HE only has good plans for us and that HE will cause good to work in our lives, how could we not surrender all of our lives to HIM?

Saying and wanting to surrender all of our lives to HIM is easier said than done. Even after we believe that God loves us and will cause all things to work together for our good, we still have an enemy who wants to destroy us by his deception and tries to derail our thinking and tempt us to think that we can “handle” our lives on our own. However when we try to handle or fix our lives on our own we realize we don’t have the sufficiency to do it and that’s when our problems begin to multiply.

So once we cast our cares over to HIM we need by faith to leave them there and not try to handle them ourselves and we find the peace, love and joy that God has created to be an everyday part of our life.

Philippians 4:6-8King James Version (KJV)
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Psalm 103:1-2King James Version (KJV)
103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psalm 46:10King James Version (KJV)
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 19:14King James Version (KJV)
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

So in closing we know why we need to surrender all of our life to God, we know how, we know that we have an enemy that will try to stop us from surrendering everything over to God, so the last step is just for us to do it.

Again it is easier said than done but anything worth having is worth doing. God has the master plan but we still have to participate in it to make it work in our lives.

Proclamations of Prosperity

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

This verse teaches us that it is God’s will for us to prosper. However we must consider the entire text and understand the whole counsel of God. When our soul prospers we are growing in our faith and in our understanding of God’s divine nature.

1 Timothy 6:6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

We teach our children to count their blessings, as adults when we count all the blessings God has already placed in our lives it teaches us of His faithfulness, keeps our focus on His love and builds our faith. Father God has ALWAYS been faithful to His children with abundant provisions and blessings. (Eph 3:20)

When we learn of the patriarchs of the faith like Abraham who was blessed to be a blessing and was actually envied because of God’s goodness to him.

Think about it when Noah stepped off the boat he was the richest man ever! There was no one else to own anything. In Genesis 26:12 we read that Isaac sowed in the land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold because God had blessed him. Father God is no respecter of persons, but a respecter of faith, He loves all of His children equally however all things from God are obtained by Faith ( Heb 11:1)

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

When we believe God, count Him faithful, trust and praise Him then He will give us the desires of our heart toward Him.

Deuteronomy 28:1-13 28 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

“Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

“Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall yoube when you go out.

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

“The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lordyour God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

 This passage tells us of all the blessings God has for us if we will be obedient to Him.

In Genesis 1 the history of creation, all things came into being because God said. God said let there be light and light was…

In Genesis 1:27 God created man in His image giving him the same creative power that Father God has. Let’s read about the power of the tongue,

Proverbs 18:21 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

It is essential for us to know that we have creative power in our mouth for both life and death for blessing and cursing because our words really do frame our world.

So if we desire prosperity and blessings in our lives we have to agree with the Bible God’s written will and word for us, speak it over our lives and take by faith the blessings that Father God has already provided for us.

Once we fully understand and believe that Father God has blessings for us and truly desires for us to be prosperous then our soul begins to prosper as 3 John 2 states and the rest will come into our lives as a reality. Our good health and healing our finances and all that we have need of.

In 1 Samuel we learn that those who honor God He will honor them. Father God is a good Father who gave all that He had to us in His only Son Jesus, there is no good thing that He will with hold from us! (Psalm 34:10).

All we have to do to obtain the blessing of the Lord is to know His Word (His Will) Believe it (Heb 11:1) and then proclaim it over our lives!

Keeping Christ In Christmas

Luke 2:1-20 (NKJV)

2 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife,[a] who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold,[b] an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”[c]

15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely[d] known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Jesus was sent to us as the GREATEST gift and the GREATEST miracle. Jesus’ purpose for coming to the earth, living and dying for us was to restore us back to a relationship with the Father.

Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

While it is important to keep Christ in Christmas it is more important that we have a daily life with Jesus. The way to honor Jesus is to have the center focus of our lives in Him. Our lives in Jesus is an eternal journey with Him.

When we see the Christmas colors of red, white and green they serve as a reminder of all that Jesus has done for us. The color red reminds us of His precious blood spilled out for our redemption, white reminds us that in Him we are cleansed from ALL of our sins and green reminds us that in Him we have everlasting life.

No one wants a relationship with their loved ones to be only one day a year, on their birthday but a loving thriving and growing relationship everyday.

Honor Jesus this Christmas season and everyday by being the light to the world that He needs you to be. It has been said and couldn’t be more true, what if you are the only Bible that some one reads or the only example of Jesus that they see?

Jesus came to redeem us, to give us life and life more abundantly to be more to us than we could ever even think or imagine.

Let us spend this season and our lives loving one another, forgiving one another and serving one another as Jesus has for us.

Leading people to Jesus is the best gift that we can give to Jesus!

Let’s keep Christ in Christmas and in our everyday! Let’s show the world how much Jesus loves them and why we keep Him.

Our Security in The Father Faith vs. Fear:

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

In today’s world there are so many opportunities to have fear and to live in insecurity. From the verse above we understand that it is not God’s will for us to live in fear.

2 Timothy 1:7

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
We understand that Father God never initiated fear, He gave us love and a sound mind. Fear is from Satan our enemy, it involves torment and has no love, joy or peace in it.
Psalm 37:25
25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
Philippians 4:19
Knowing that all of our needs are meet in Him and that He is always with us we can have a peace and a surety that will end all fear.
Hebrews 13:5-6New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”[
1 Peter 5:6-9
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

We are told by God to keep our cares cast over onto Him because He cares for us, that is not a one time action we have to continually give our cares to Jesus. Satan tries to devour us by getting us into fear and insecurity. But we are told to resist (don’t allow) this into our lives.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Proverbs 3:5-8
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh And strength to your bones.
When we trust in God with all of our heart not some but all meaning that we submit and trust God with everyone and everything in our lives we have nothing to fear.
John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Now let’s talk about faith!

Romans 12:3

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 11:1-6
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

From these scriptures we learn that God has given to each of us a measure of faith. That Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (which means hearing it again and again…) And that faith is a gift from God that causes us to obtain the Kingdom of God into our lives, His perfect will.
Everything we obtain in the Kingdom of God we obtain through faith, which is simply believing that God is Who He says that He is and that He will do what He says that He will do! Taking Him at His Word.
The greatest honor you give anyone is to believe them, the same is true with God He just needs us to believe Him.

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
John 10:10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Ephesians 3:20
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

These versus show us that Father God has only good plans for us, plans for us to have the best life possible!
We have seen that Father loves us and has good plans for us to have a blessed and prosperous life, having all that we need but Satan’s plans are to kill, steal and destroy and he uses fear and torment in part to do just that. Faith is gift that Father God has given us to obtain all the perfect plans He has for us but fear is a tool of Satan that he uses to destroy us.
We can choose Faith or we can allow fear. Father God has given us the answer!

Joshua 24:15

15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Battle is the Lord’s
Armor of God

Put on the armor of God and defend yourself from the enemy’s attacks.

Ephesians 6:10-18

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

We are commanded by Father God to be strong in Him, put on the WHOLE armor of God and then stand, stand firm believing and trusting in Him!

The Lord is our Shepherd, He should be our guide even in the smallest of decisions.

The Lord is our Shepherd, He should be our guide even in the smallest of decisions.

Psalms 23:1-6

New King James Version (NKJV)

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Jesus is our Shepherd, He will always guide, protect and provide for us, regardless of the battle that we face.  He is a constant friend who never leaves us or forsakes us.  He lives and daily makes intercession for us.

"Be still, and know that I am God"

“Be still, and know that I am God”

Psalms 46:10

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

Psalms 91:7

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.

Psalms 91:16

New King James Version (NKJV)

16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does"

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does”

In spite of how violent the battle rages around you, Father God PROMISES that you will not fail, you are safe in Him!  He will guard and keep you all the days of your life when you acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior of your life.

Romans 8:28-31

New King James Version (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
