In His Presence: The Purpose And Power In Praise And Worship

John 4:24New King James Version (NKJV)

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Father God created us to worship Him, He created both a need in us to worship Him, and to worship Him sincerely. When we worship Him, a Divine purpose is accomplished, and a Divine power  is released into our lives.

Psalm 150:2New King James Version (NKJV)

Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

Psalm 150:6New King James Version (NKJV)

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

1 Chronicles 16:34New King James Version (NKJV)

34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Romans 14:11New King James Version (NKJV)

11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”

Psalm 100:4New King James Version (NKJV)

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Psalm 113:3New King James Version (NKJV)

From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised.

One example of the Power and Purpose of praise and worship in our lives is that God inhabits the praises of His people.

Psalm 22:3New King James Version (NKJV)

But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

God has always lived in the praises of His people, we need God’s constant presence in our lives and the best way to enjoy His presence is to praise Him! This kind of praise and worship in our lives releases so many benefits and so much power in lives, even more than we can think or even ask!

Ephesians 3:20New King James Version (NKJV)

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Another purpose and power in praising God is that when we draw near to Him in praise and worship, He will draw near to us and we can experience the life changing download into our lives that only comes to us when we are in His presence. This kind of fellowship with the Father also causes the enemy to flee (or run from us in terror) because he can’t stand in the presence of us in the Father.

James 4:7-8New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

There is always great power released into our lives when we praise and worship God, when we honor Him. True praise and worship of Father God takes the focus off of us and our lives and places our focus on Him and His greatness! True worship brings us into a place of humility before God, cleanses our minds and allows us to hear from Him.

Psalm 16:11New King James Version (NKJV)

11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

True praise and worship of God leaves no room in our lives for complaining and negativity because it causes us to realize the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Deuteronomy 7:9

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He isGod, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

1 Corinthians 1:9

faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is not always easy to praise and worship God, which means it is a sacrifice. However Father God Himself guarantees that it is a sacrifice where the benefits of praise always outweighs the sacrifice.

Hebrews 13:15New King James Version (NKJV)

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

When we praise and worship God sincerely, we enter into His presence and He enters into our lives with all of His love, His wisdom, His ability, and all of the resources of the Kingdom Of God and supernaturally  empowers us to have the best life and be the best  child of God that He has predestined us to be. It causes us to triumph over the trials of life and gives us the joy of the Lord that increases our strength. So the next time you feel burdened or less than at your best, open your heart to Father God, praise and worship Him the way He deserves to be praised and watch your life be renewed, strengthened and you will experience the goodness of Father God to the next level!
